JUNE 12TH FUNDRAISER AND KNIT IN THE PUBLIC DAY

Casting off The Cold celebrating world wide knit in the public day at the Richmond Hill Village Festival on June 12th. As you can see on the table there are a lot of baby items for sale for the fundraiser, and a kids blanket that we raffled off.
Although the weather was not in any ones favor, rained all day, we were all soaking wet and cold to our bones, we were able to keep up good spirits about every thing.
Liz, Monica, Siobhan and myself were there to support the group, and I cannot thank them enough for being so faithful and taking time off from their families to be there.

We did very well with the raffle, and the WINNER IS JOAN LUND FROM RICHMOND HILL. She was very happy that she won because she has a few grand children. CONGRATULATION JOAN.
Yep, Monica and Siobhan all ready to take the crowd on, no rain yet and every thing looks good.
The crowds came in small pockets so there was time to do some knitting. Monica knitted a baby summer hat from beginning to end, and she said that it was one way to keep her fingers warm.
This is the second time that we have taken part in an outdoor event and it turned out to be a total wash out. I am not sure we will be taking part in events like this again. Hopefully we can find an indoor event that we can participate in. If any one has any suggestions please feel free to email me about it.

Thank you very much ladies for being so supportive and those of you who work so hard getting items done for the fundraiser, many, many thanks again.

KNIT IN THE PUBLIC DAY

Casting Off The Cold will be hosting knit in the public day at the Richmond Heritage Festival on Saturday June 12th from 9am to 5pm. Our Booth # is 58 which is located on the east side of Yonge street, approximately in front of Richmond Hill United Church at Centre Street.

On the table for our fundraiser there will be a raffle for a baby blanket crocheted by one of our members. The blanket is approximately 49"x42" and the tickets are going for $3 each or $5 for two. The raffle will be drawn at 4pm at the festival so you must purchase your tickets before that time. Any one purchasing tickets online should pick them up at the festival. Also there will be lots of baby items for sale, made by the members of Casting off The Cold.

Please drop by, meet some of the members who have devoted their time to make warm clothing for the cold winter months for those in need in our Community. And hopefully you will find some thing for your little one.
For us to keep up the good work and make such beautiful things, we need to keep our inventory stocked with good quality yarn. We will except any donation of yarn or knitted items for our charities. See you at the Festival!!
