MARCH DONATION

These sweaters were donated by Cathy Rumph from North York. They were all knitted by her, and her Mom, and the work on each sweater is amazing!!

The members at Casting off the Cold will like to thank you, for your donation of yarn and these beautiful sweaters. They will definitely keep some one warm in the cold winter months.

FEBRUARY MEETING

Winter is still here, and it's cold out there. So if you have a little time to spear to craft an item for some one in need, and have no time to attend a meeting, you can contact us to pick up your goods.
We are in great need of winter goods for the Homeless and Shelters in York Region. So please help us make a huge difference in York Region.
Here are some of the things we knit and crochet. We work all year round making warm clothing for the winter to keep some one warm.

Maria loves the front post stitch as you can see, she made two more of those blankets. They are colourful and they are great for kids. Good stuff Maria!

2010 FIRST MEETING

This is very good for the first meeting of the year, considering the number of members that attended. I was very grateful that they made time over the Holidays to work on their projects.

Thanks you all for your hard work and devotion to Casting off The Cold. This year we have added a new Charity, the Bereavement Program for the Markham Stouffville Hospital. One suggestion for the blankets, they should be done in cotton and you can find the sizes on the blog.

For those who would really like to help out with any of the Charities we support and cannot join us at our meetings, we do have an on line group. So please join us on line, every one is welcome. Knitters, Crocheters, Quilters, and if you sew that will help also. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Monica decided to design a hat, andit turned out great!! I love it.

I was not able to produce as many as the others, because I have been working on Afghans for gifts. So here are a couple of hats and scarves from me.

Hello very one, I hope you all had a great holiday season and will be ready to start the New Year working on projects for those in need.

unfortunately we will not be meeting today January the 3rd because of the weather. We have rescheduled the meeting to January 10th at the Markham Library at 1pm to 3pm. For all new members who would like to join us, we will get back on schedule in February to meet at the Markham Library first Sunday of the month and Richmond Hill Michael's the second Sunday of the month.

I am looking forward to seeing you all then.

BATA SHOE MUSEUM'S ANNUAL SOCK DRIVE

Calling all knitters and crocheters to the Bata Shoe Museum for their annual warm the Sole Sock Drive.

You are invited to join them on Nov, 13/29 2009 on the bottom floor, in the knitting nook room to knit or crochet a scarf. All finished items will be donated to the Scott Mission.

The weather is defiantly getting colder and it is such a great feeling to help keep some one warm this winter. So get your needles out and grab some yarn and head on down to the Museum and knit up a scarf. Be kind to some one this winter.
