Well finally we are seeing the sun! I could not wait so raked up my garden and lawn and gave the lawn a little fertilizer. Hope that will give it a good start with the rain we got over night.
From Made these cozy hat and scarf set, one set pure wool, very warm.

This a beautiful blanket with a reverse hdc. It looks amazing.

From Sharon, Hats and a gorgeous set.

Paramjeet has done it again, Love this baby set.

Also from Paramjeet Hats and scarf sets.

The pattern I used for this blanket, is Apache Tears. I really enjoyed working with it, but you have a lot of ends to weave in. I thought it turned out pretty good.
Thanks again to all of you for your beautiful work and support for all these years. Keep up the great work ladies.

Amica Group April Meeting

The Amica group had their first meeting since February, and the ladies donated lots of beautiful items. They must have been very busy during the cold snowy months of February and March! Thanks so much to all of you. A note regarding Babara's purple blanket with patterned squares: patterns for the squares were designed by Elaine Fitzpatrick. If you're interested, these patterns and more are available on her website or on Ravelry under her name.

Casting Off the Cold has a New Group!

We are excited to announce that Casting Off the Cold has a new group based in Oshawa, covering the areas of Oshawa, Whitby, Courtice and Bowmanville. We know that there are people in need throughout the Greater Toronto Area and we're very happy to be able to support organizations in this area as well as in York Region.

Please welcome Allison to the Casting Off the Cold family. She will be the contact for meetings and donations for this group. She already has a number of local organizations where Casting Off the Cold will be donating in the GTA east area, and will also be sending items to Markham that will go to the Hospital for Sick Children. If anyone is interested in knitting or crocheting for this new group, or if you have materials to donate, please contact her at

Allison will be updating the blog and our Facebook page with more information on meetings, donations and the organizations the group will support.

Thank you, Allison, for offering your time and effort to extend the area Casting Off the Cold serves. We hope that your new group will find as much enjoyment and satisfaction donating their skills to help people in need as our York Region members have over the last 12 years,

Amica February meeting

Our last Amica meeting in February was a great success. The ladies continued to click away on their needles while the weather was cold and blustery. Thanks to all of you for contributing such wonderful items.
